उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)
यो जित: पञठ्चवर्गेण सहजेनात्मकर्षिणा । आपदस्तस्य वर्धन्ते शुक्लपक्ष इवोडुराट्
yo jitaḥ pañcavargeṇa sahajenātmakarṣiṇā | āpadastasya vardhante śuklapakṣa ivodurāṭ ||
Orang yang ditaklukkan oleh kelompok bawaan dari lima indria yang menyeret diri ke luar—malapetakanya terus bertambah, bagaikan bulan yang kian membesar pada paruh terang.
