अथास्रमस्रवद् घोरं गिरेगैरिकधातुवत् । रामेण सुमहाबाहो क्षतस्य छतजेक्षण,लाल नेत्रोंवाले महाबाहु दुर्योधन! परशुरामजीके द्वारा किये हुए उस गहरे आघातसे भयंकर रक्तकी धारा बह चली। मानो पर्वतसे गैरिक धातुमिश्रित जलका झरना झर रहा हो
athāsramasravad ghoraṁ gire gairikadhātuvat | rāmeṇa sumahābāho kṣatasya chatajīkṣaṇa ||
Lalu, wahai Duryodhana yang berlengan perkasa, bermata kemerahan laksana warna payung kebesaran! Dari luka dalam yang ditorehkan oleh Rama (Paraśurāma) memancar deras aliran darah yang mengerikan—bagaikan mata air gunung yang mengalir dengan air bersemburat oker merah.
