ततस्तं वै विमनसमुदीक्ष्याहमथाब्रुवम्‌ । नाहमेनां पुनर्दद्यां ब्रह्मन्‌ भ्रात्रे कंचन,तब मैंने परशुरामजीको उदास देखकर इस प्रकार कहा--'ब्रह्मन! अब मैं इसका विवाह अपने भाईके साथ किसी प्रकार नहीं कर सकता

tatastaṃ vai vimanasam udīkṣyāham athābruvam | nāham enāṃ punar dadyāṃ brahman bhrātre kaṃcana ||

Lalu, melihat Paraśurāma murung, aku berkata: “Wahai Brāhmaṇa, aku sama sekali tidak dapat menyerahkannya lagi untuk dinikahkan dengan saudaraku.”
