Agni-hymn, discovery of Indra, and the Nahuṣa threat
स्वं चैव वपुरास्थाय बभूव स बलान्वित: । अब्रवीच्च गुरुं देवो बृहस्पतिमवस्थितम्
svaṃ caiva vapur āsthāya babhūva sa balānvitaḥ | abravīc ca guruṃ devo bṛhaspatim avasthitam ||
Setelah memperoleh kembali wujud tubuhnya sendiri, ia pun kembali dianugerahi kekuatan dan keperkasaan. Lalu Indra, penguasa para dewa, menyapa gurunya Bṛhaspati yang berdiri di sana—
शल्य उवाच
The verse highlights ethical leadership: after regaining rightful strength and position, one should seek guidance from a qualified teacher (guru) before acting. Power is framed as something to be aligned with counsel and proper order, not used impulsively.
Indra has returned to his own body/form and thus becomes strong again. Immediately afterward, he addresses his preceptor Bṛhaspati, who is present, indicating a moment of consultation or instruction following a restoration of Indra’s condition.
