Agni-hymn, discovery of Indra, and the Nahuṣa threat
The verse underscores that legitimate authority is demonstrated by the ability to confront and subdue destructive, unrighteous forces; valor is ethically framed as protection of cosmic and social order rather than mere aggression.
Śalya addresses Indra (Śakra) in praise, recalling Indra’s victories over formidable asuras—Namuci, Śambara, and Bala—citing these feats as evidence of Indra’s fearsome prowess and capacity to overcome powerful adversaries.
