Ulūka’s Provocation and Keśava’s Counter-Message (उलूकदूत्ये केशवप्रत्युत्तरम्)
अविज्ञानात् ततः सो5थ डिण्डिकं हुपभुक्तवान् | ततस्ते सहिता: सर्वे मन्त्रयामासुरञ्जसा
avijñānāt tataḥ so 'tha ḍiṇḍikaṃ hy upabhuktavān | tatas te sahitāḥ sarve mantrayāmāsur añjasā ||
Sanjaya berkata: Karena kurang waspada, si kucing pun melahap Ḍiṇḍika. Sesudah itu semua tikus berkumpul bersama dan, dengan tujuan yang jelas, mulai bermusyawarah satu sama lain.
संजय उवाच
Carelessness born of ignorance leads to preventable loss; therefore one should remain alert to danger and respond through thoughtful, collective deliberation rather than isolated panic.
The cat, unaware of the mice’s alertness (or lacking discernment), eats Ḍiṇḍika too; afterward all the mice assemble and begin to consult together to decide their next course of action.
