स्वर्याते5हं पितरि तं स्वराज्ये संन्यवेशयम्‌ । विचित्रवीर्य राजानं भृत्यो भूत्वा ह्धश्चर:,'पिताके स्वर्गवासी हो जानेपर मैंने अपने राज्यपर राजा विचित्रवीर्यको ही बिठाया और स्वयं उनका सेवक होकर राज्यसिंहासनसे नीचे खड़ा रहा

svaryāte'haṃ pitari taṃ svarājye saṃnyaveśayam | vicitravīrya-rājānaṃ bhṛtyo bhūtvā hṛdiścaraḥ ||

Ketika ayahku telah berangkat ke surga, aku menobatkan Raja Vichitravīrya di atas kerajaanku sendiri. Lalu aku menjadi pelayannya, berdiri di bawah singgasana, menahan hakku sendiri dan bergerak hanya menurut perintah dharma.
