Karna berkata: “Wahai Janardana, ketika ia masih seorang gadis, ia mengandungku dari Bhaskara, Dewa Surya. Lalu, atas titah Sang Aditya, setelah aku lahir ia menghanyutkanku—menyerahkanku pada nasib.”
कर्ण उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical tension between divine causation and human responsibility: even when events begin through a god’s power, the human choices made under social fear—such as abandoning a child—carry lasting moral and psychological consequences.
Karna recounts to Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana) the circumstances of his birth: Kuntī, still a maiden, conceived him through the Sun-god, and after his birth—following the Sun’s counsel—she abandoned him, setting the stage for Karna’s lifelong struggle with identity and honor.
