भीष्मद्रोणयोर्दुर्योधनं प्रति शमोपदेशः | Bhīṣma and Droṇa’s Counsel of Conciliation to Duryodhana
पश्यतां कुरुवीराणां तच्च संस्मारये: पुनः । जुएके समय द्रौपदीको जो सभामें जाना पड़ा और कौरव वीरोंके सामने ही दुर्योधन और दु:शासनने जो उसे गालियाँ दीं
paśyatāṃ kuru-vīrāṇāṃ tac ca saṃsmārayeyaḥ punaḥ | yatraika-samaye draupadī sabhāṃ gantum avāryatā, tatra kaurava-vīrāṇāṃ samakṣaṃ duryodhana-duḥśāsanābhyāṃ yā nindā-kṣepā uktāḥ, tad bhīmasenārjunayor eva tiraskāraḥ | ahaṃ punaḥ tasyāḥ smṛtiṃ teṣāṃ prati nidadhāmi ||
Di hadapan para kesatria Kuru sendiri, akan kuingatkan kalian sekali lagi akan peristiwa itu. Pernah suatu masa Draupadī dipaksa memasuki balairung kerajaan; dan di depan para prajurit Kaurava, Duryodhana serta Duḥśāsana melontarkan hinaan kepadanya. Kekejian itu sesungguhnya juga merupakan penghinaan atas Bhīmasena dan Arjuna. Maka ingatan itu kuhadirkan kembali.
पुत्र उवाच
Public injustice—especially the humiliation of a protected woman in the royal court—is not merely a personal wrong but a collapse of dharma that stains the entire polity. Recalling such an outrage functions as a moral indictment and a call to restore honor and justice.
A speaker identified as “the son” addresses the Kuru warriors and deliberately recalls the episode of Draupadī being forced into the assembly and insulted by Duryodhana and Duḥśāsana, framing it as a direct affront to the Pāṇḍava champions Bhīma and Arjuna and as grounds for renewed resolve.
