अश्चानां काड्क्षितार्थानां पडिमानि शतानि वै | शतद्वयेन कन्येयं भवता प्रतिगृह्मताम्
aśvānāṃ kāṅkṣitārthānāṃ ṣaḍimāni śatāni vai | śatadvayena kanyeyaṃ bhavatā pratigṛhyatām |
Mereka berkata: “Wahai Guru yang mulia, inilah enam ratus kuda yang Tuan kehendaki, telah kami bawa untuk pengabdian kepada Tuan. Dan sebagai ganti dua ratus yang tersisa, mohon terimalah gadis ini.”

The verse highlights the ethics of fulfilling an agreed obligation through proper offering and respectful speech: what is desired is delivered, and a shortfall is compensated through an alternative accepted within the narrative’s social norms.
Narada reports the delivery of six hundred requested horses and proposes that, in lieu of the remaining two hundred, the recipient should accept a maiden as compensation, indicating a negotiated settlement of a promised payment.
