धन-निरुक्ति तथा गालवस्य गुरुदक्षिणा-प्रसङ्गः

अनुज्ञातस्तु शाण्डिल्या यथागतमुपागमत् | नैव चासादयामास तथारूपांस्तुरंगमान्,तत्पश्चात् शाण्डिलीकी आज्ञा ले वे जैसे आये थे, वैसे ही चले गये। वे गालवके बताये अनुसार श्यामकर्ण घोड़े नहीं पा सके
anujñātas tu śāṇḍilyā yathāgatam upāgamat | naiva cāsādayāmāsa tathārūpāṁs turaṅgamān |
Setelah memperoleh izin Śāṇḍilī, ia pergi persis seperti saat datang. Namun ia sama sekali tidak berhasil mendapatkan kuda-kuda dengan ciri yang diminta; maka kuda bertelinga gelap sebagaimana disebut Gālava pun tidak ditemukan.
