कर्मणा क्षत्रियाश्रैते निर्धणा भोगिभोजिन: । ज्ञातिसंक्षयकर्तत्वाद ब्राह्मुण्यं न लभन्ति वै

Transliteration

karmaṇā kṣatriyāśraite nirdhaṇā bhogibhojinaḥ | jñātisaṃkṣayakartṛtvād brāhmaṇyaṃ na labhanti vai ||

Translation

Narada berkata: “Walau terlahir dalam garis brāhmaṇa, oleh perbuatan mereka mengambil watak kṣatriya. Mereka tanpa belas kasih dan hidup dengan memakan ular. Karena menyebabkan kebinasaan sanak-kerabat mereka sendiri, mereka tidak sungguh-sungguh mencapai derajat brāhmaṇa.”
