Waiśampāyana berkata: “Di kota Purandara yang elok, ia bersukacita bersama Śakra. Demikianlah ia tinggal di surga selama bertahun-tahun dengan kehormatan; kemudian, selama dua puluh satu ribu tahun, ia menetap di kota Indra yang menawan bersama para Gandharwa, menikmati kebahagiaan surgawi seiring sang raja para dewa.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The passage underscores the Mahābhārata’s moral logic of karma: righteous and meritorious action leads to honored residence in Svarga and companionship with divine beings, portraying heavenly enjoyment as a consequence of earned virtue rather than mere chance.
Vaiśampāyana describes a person (contextually, a meritorious soul) dwelling in Indra’s beautiful city, rejoicing with Indra; after many years, he continues for a vast span—twenty-one thousand years—enjoying celestial pleasures with Gandharvas in the presence of Devendra.
