Utathya’s Instruction: Royal Dharma, Restraint of Pride, Protection of Subjects
उभौ लोकावभिप्रेक्ष्य राजानमृषय: स्वयम् । असृजन् सुमहद् भूतमयं धर्मो भविष्यति,लोक और परलोक दोनोंको दृष्टिमें रखकर महर्षियोंने स्वयं ही राजा नामक एक महान् शक्तिशाली मनुष्यकी सृष्टि की। उन्होंने सोचा था कि “यह साक्षात् धर्मस्वरूप होगा”
ubhau lokāv abhiprekṣya rājānam ṛṣayaḥ svayam | asṛjan sumahad bhūtamayaṃ dharmo bhaviṣyati ||
Dengan memandang kedua alam—dunia kini dan alam sesudahnya—para resi sendiri menciptakan sang raja, suatu makhluk agung berwujud manusia, dengan maksud agar ia menjadi Dharma yang tampak nyata.
उतथ्य उवाच
Kingship is justified as an ethical institution: the king is envisioned as Dharma in embodied form, meant to protect order and welfare with an eye on both worldly stability and otherworldly merit.
Utathya explains that the sages, considering the needs of both this life and the next, deliberately created/established the king as a powerful human embodiment intended to function as visible Dharma for society.
