एकदोषा हि बहवो मृद्नीयुरपि कण्टकान् । मन्त्रभेदभयाद् राजंस्तस्मादेतद् ब्रवीमि ते
ekadoṣā hi bahavo mṛdnīyur api kaṇṭakān | mantrabhedabhayād rājan tasmād etad bravīmi te ||
Bhishma berkata: “Wahai Raja, bila banyak orang dituduh dengan satu kesalahan yang sama, mereka cenderung bersatu; dan ketika bersatu, mereka sanggup menghancurkan bahkan ‘duri’ yang paling berbahaya. Karena takut nasihat rahasia ini terbocorkan, aku katakan kepadamu: hadapilah lawanmu satu per satu.”
