Educational Q&A

Suffering is eased by choosing an appropriate countermeasure: just as heat is relieved by shade, water, and breeze, human distress is relieved by seeking the right support, discipline, or counsel suited to the problem.

Aila speaks in a didactic context within Śānti Parva, using a simple natural example—relief from heat through shade, water, and wind—to illustrate a broader ethical point about finding proper remedies and refuges.
