Śānti Parva, Adhyāya 52 — Bhīṣma’s Humility Before Kṛṣṇa and the Granting of Boons
tataḥ sarvārti-vaṁ divyaṁ puṣpa-varṣaṁ nabhas-talāt | papāta yatra vārṣṇeyaḥ sa-gāṅgeyaḥ sa-pāṇḍavaḥ ||
The verse signals that discourse on dharma is not merely human debate but a sacred act: the heavens respond with honor. Ethical governance and right conduct, taught in Bhīṣma’s instruction to Yudhiṣṭhira in Kṛṣṇa’s presence, are portrayed as worthy of cosmic reverence.
As Bhīṣma, Yudhiṣṭhira, and Kṛṣṇa sit together during the Shānti Parva teachings, a celestial shower of seasonally varied flowers descends from the sky upon their location, functioning as an auspicious sign and homage.
