Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)
नारायण: स विश्वात्मा तेनास्य शितिकण्ठता । यह देख रुद्र तपस्यामें लगे हुए उन ऋषियोंपर टूट पड़े। तब विश्वात्मा नारायणने अपने हाथसे उन आक्रमणकारी रुद्रदेवका गला पकड़ लिया। इसीसे उनका कण्ठ नीला हो जानेके कारण वे “नीलकण्ठ' के नामसे प्रसिद्ध हुए

Ketika Rudra menerjang untuk menyerang para resi yang tekun bertapa, Nārāyaṇa—Sang Ātman semesta—mencekal tenggorokan Rudra dengan tangannya. Karena cekalan itu, tenggorokannya menjadi biru gelap; maka ia pun termasyhur dengan sebutan “Nīlakaṇṭha”, Si Berleher Biru.
तामिन्द्र उवाच गच्छ नहुषस्त्वया वाच्योथ<पूर्वेण मामृषियुक्तेन यानेन त्वमधिरूढ
