mokṣadharmeṣu kuśalo bhagavān prabravītu me | yathā me manasaḥ śāntiḥ paramā sambhavet prabho ||
The verse frames mokṣa-dharma as a practical discipline: liberation-oriented teaching is sought not as theory but to generate ‘paramā śānti’—the highest inner peace. It emphasizes humility before a qualified spiritual authority and the ethical aim of calming and purifying the mind.
In the Mokṣa-dharma section of Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma addresses a revered ‘Bhagavān’ and requests instruction in liberation-teachings, explicitly stating his goal: the arising of supreme mental peace.
