Śvetadvīpa-varṇana and Śāstra-pravartana (Śānti Parva 322)

शकुनानामिवाकाशे मत्स्यानामिव चोदके । पद यथा न दृश्येत तथा पुण्यकृतां गति:,जैसे आकाशमें पक्षियोंके और जलमें मछलियोंके चरण-चिह्न दिखायी नहीं देते, उसी प्रकार पुण्यात्मा ज्ञानियोंकी भी गतिका पता नहीं चलता

śakunānām ivākāśe matsyānām iva codake | padaṃ yathā na dṛśyeta tathā puṇyakṛtāṃ gatiḥ ||

Sebagaimana jejak kaki burung tak tampak di langit dan jejak ikan tak terlihat di air, demikian pula jalan dan tujuan akhir para pelaku kebajikan—orang-orang bijak dan suci—tak dapat dilacak oleh pandangan biasa.
