Śuka–Janaka Saṃvāda: Āśrama-krama, Jñāna-vijñāna, and the Marks of Liberation (शुक-जनक संवादः)
एषा ते व्यक्तितो राजन् विभूतिरनुदर्शिता । आदी मध्ये तथान्ते च यथातत्त्वेन तत्त्ववित्
eṣā te vyaktito rājan vibhūtir anudarśitā | ādau madhye tathānte ca yathātattvena tattvavit ||
Wahai Raja, demikianlah telah kutunjukkan kepadamu vibhūti pribadi sang makhluk hidup—pada awal, pertengahan, dan akhir—sesuai dengan hakikat, agar engkau, sang pengetahu kebenaran, memahaminya sebagaimana adanya.
याज़्वल्क्य उवाच
The verse closes a doctrinal explanation: the sage affirms that he has presented the jīva’s ‘individual manifestation’ clearly and truthfully, tracing it across the whole course of existence—beginning, middle, and end—so the listener may understand reality as it is.
In Śānti Parva’s instructional setting, Yājñavalkya addresses a king and summarizes that his exposition is complete: he has ‘shown’ the doctrine in a systematic way (from start to finish), emphasizing fidelity to tattva (true principle/reality).
