Educational Q&A

True well-being comes to the embodied person who treats purity (inner and outer) as the real ‘tīrtha’ and who, guided by discernment (buddhi), follows the path of spiritual and ethical welfare; such a person gains happiness both in this life and after death.

In Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and right living, the sage Parāśara delivers a didactic statement: he redirects the idea of pilgrimage from external places to personal purity and wise conduct, promising auspicious results in both worlds.
