अव्यक्त-प्रबोधः (Awakening to the Unmanifest): The 25th and 26th Principles and Eligibility for Brahma-vidyā
जनक उवाच ब्रह्मणैकेन जातानां नानात्वं गोत्रत: कथम् | बहूनीह हि लोके वै गोत्राणि मुनिसत्तम
janaka uvāca
brahmaṇaikena jātānāṁ nānātvam gotrataḥ katham |
bahūnīha hi loke vai gotrāṇi munisattama ||
Janaka berkata: “Wahai yang terbaik di antara para resi, jika semua makhluk lahir dari Brahmā yang satu, bagaimana keragaman gotra (garis keturunan) dapat muncul? Sebab di dunia ini memang banyak gotra yang disebut-sebut.”
जनक उवाच
The verse frames a philosophical and social inquiry: if humanity has a single cosmic origin in Brahmā, how do differentiated lineages (gotras) arise? It invites an explanation of how unity at the source can coexist with diversity in social and genealogical classifications.
King Janaka addresses a revered sage and asks for clarification about the origin of the many gotras known in the world, given the traditional belief that all beings ultimately originate from Brahmā.
