Adhyāya 287 — Janaka’s Inquiry on Śreyas, Abhayadāna, and Asaṅga

एतस्मात् कारणाच्छेय: कलिलं प्रतिभाति मे । ब्रवीतु भगवांस्तन्मे उपसन्नोडस्म्यधीहि भो:
etasmāt kāraṇāc chreyaḥ kalilaṁ pratibhāti me | bravītu bhagavāṁs tan me upasanno 'smy adhīhi bhoḥ ||
Karena alasan inilah, hakikat sejati dari śreyas (kebaikan tertinggi) tampak bagiku tertutup oleh keraguan dan kekacauan. Maka, wahai Yang Mulia, sampaikanlah ajaran itu kepadaku. Aku datang berlindung padamu—wahai tuan yang patut dihormati, ajarilah aku dan buat aku memahami jalan menuju kebaikan tertinggi.
