Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights steadiness and non-attachment in dharmic practice: when external supports or expected outcomes do not appear, one should not cling or despair but proceed wisely, adjusting one’s course without abandoning inner discipline.

The birds that had been coming and going stop returning for a month after flying out. In response, the sage Jājali leaves that place and goes elsewhere.
