धर्मनित्ये महाबुद्धौ ब्रह्मण्ये सत्यवादिनि । प्रश्निते दानशीले च सदैव निवसाम्यहम्
śakra uvāca | dharmanitye mahābuddhau brahmaṇye satyavādini | praśnite dānaśīle ca sadaiva nivasāmy aham ||
Pada diri orang yang senantiasa teguh dalam dharma—berbudi agung, berakal besar, berbakti kepada para Brahmana dan ilmu suci, benar dalam tutur kata, rendah hati ketika ditanya, serta dermawan dalam memberi—aku senantiasa bersemayam.
शक्र उवाच
Divine favor and inner strength are said to abide in a person who consistently practices dharma—marked by discernment, reverence for sacred learning and the virtuous, truthfulness, humility in discourse, and generosity.
Śakra (Indra) is speaking in a didactic context of the Śānti Parva, describing the qualities of a righteous person and declaring that he ‘dwells’ with such a person—i.e., that divine support accompanies sustained ethical conduct.
