Satya-lakṣaṇa (The Characteristics and Forms of Truth) |
The verse underscores accountability for speech: harsh or improper words (durbhāṣita) provoke conflict and invite censure. Ethical conduct includes restraint in speech and awareness that one’s words may be reported to higher authorities or elders for judgment.
Nārada, angered by the listener’s manner of speaking, declares that he will personally convey those offensive words to Vāyu, indicating a move from private admonition to formal complaint before a respected divine authority.
