Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)
निश्चय: स्वार्थशास्त्रेषु विश्वासश्वासुखोदय: । उशना चैव गाथे डे प्रह्लादायाब्रवीत् पुरा,विश्वास दुःख देनेवाला है, यही नीतिशास्त्रोंका निश्चय है। प्रचीनकालमें शुक्राचार्यने भी प्रह्नमादसे दो गाथाएँ कही थीं, जो इस प्रकार हैं
brahmadatta uvāca | niścayaḥ svārthaśāstreṣu viśvāsaś ca asukhodayaḥ | uśanā caiva gāthe dve prahlādāyābravīt purā |
Inilah kesimpulan yang mantap dalam śāstra tentang kebijakan duniawi: kepercayaan melahirkan derita. Dahulu kala Uśanā (Śukrācārya) pun mengucapkan dua bait kepada Prahlāda mengenai hal ini.
