पूजन्युवाच न कृतस्य तु कर्तुश्न सख्यं संधीयते पुनः । ह्ृदयं तत्र जानाति कर्तुश्विव कृतस्य च,पूजनी बोली--राजन्‌! जिसका अपकार किया जाता है और जो अपकार करता है, उन दोनोंमें फिर मेल नहीं हो सकता। जो अपराध करता है और जिसपर किया जाता है, उन दोनोंके ही हृदयोंमें वह बात खटकती रहती है

pūjany uvāca na kṛtasya tu kartuś ca sakhyaṃ sandhīyate punaḥ | hṛdayaṃ tatra jānāti kartuś caiva kṛtasya ca ||

Pūjanī berkata: “Wahai Raja, antara yang dizalimi dan yang berbuat zalim, persahabatan sejati tidak dapat disambung kembali. Peristiwa itu tetap menusuk di hati keduanya—pelaku maupun yang menanggungnya.”
