सतां साप्तपदं मैत्रं स सखा मे5सि पण्डित: । सांवास्यकं करिष्यामि नास्ति ते भयमद्य वै

Transliteration

satāṁ sāptapadaṁ maitraṁ sa sakhā me ’si paṇḍitaḥ | sāṁvāsyakaṁ kariṣyāmi nāsti te bhayam adya vai ||

Translation

Bhishma berkata: “Di antara orang-orang saleh, persahabatan diteguhkan hanya dengan melangkah tujuh langkah bersama. Karena engkau dan aku telah lama hidup berdampingan di sini, engkau adalah sahabatku yang bijak. Aku pasti menunaikan dharma kepada sesama penghuni satu tempat tinggal; maka sejak hari ini engkau tak perlu takut.”
