य एनं संश्रयन्तीह भक्ता नारायणं हरिम् । ते तरन्तीह दुर्गाणि न चात्रास्ति विचारणा,जो भक्त पुरुष यहाँ इन भगवान् श्रीहरि--नारायण देवकी शरण लेते हैं, वे दुस्तर संकटोंसे तर जाते हैं। इस विषयमें कोई संशय नहीं है
ya enaṁ saṁśrayantīha bhaktā nārāyaṇaṁ harim | te tarantīha durgāṇi na cātrāsti vicāraṇā ||
Mereka yang berbhakti dan berlindung di dunia ini kepada Hari—Narayana—akan menyeberangi bahaya yang paling sukar; tentang hal ini tak ada keraguan.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse teaches śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): sincere devotees who rely on Nārāyaṇa/Hari are enabled to overcome even severe dangers and hardships; the statement is presented as certain and not merely speculative.
In the Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma instructs Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and the means to peace and welfare; here he emphasizes devotion to Nārāyaṇa as a reliable support that carries devotees through life’s crises.
