Educational Q&A

Even in crisis and sorrow, dharma is upheld through humility and respect: Yudhiṣṭhira approaches his mother with folded hands, modeling ethical speech and filial reverence rather than anger or impulsiveness.

Yudhiṣṭhira, described as wise, speaks to his mother who is trembling; his joined palms indicate a respectful, supplicatory address, setting a tone of moral seriousness and emotional gravity at the start of the Śānti Parva discourse.
