Vasiṣṭhāpavāha: Sarasvatī’s Diversion and Viśvāmitra’s Curse (वसिष्ठापवाहः)
तत्रेष्टवा पुरुषव्याप्रो ययाति: पृथिवीपति: । अक्रामदूर्ध्व मुदितो लेभे लोकांश्व पुष्कलान्,पुरुषसिंह भूपाल ययाति वहाँ यज्ञ करके प्रसन्नतापूर्वक ऊर्ध्वलोकमें चले गये और वहाँ उन्हें बहुत-से पुण्यलोक प्राप्त हुए
tatreṣṭvā puruṣavyāpro yayātiḥ pṛthivīpatiḥ | akrāmad ūrdhvaṃ mudito lebhe lokāṃś ca puṣkalān ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: Di sana Raja Yayāti—harimau di antara manusia dan penguasa bumi—setelah menunaikan yajña, dengan hati bersukacita naik ke alam-alam luhur dan meraih banyak loka yang penuh pahala.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Rightly performed sacrificial duty (yajña as dharma) yields puṇya and leads to higher states of existence; disciplined action has corresponding spiritual fruit (karma-phala).
The narrator reports that King Yayāti performed a sacrifice at that place, became joyful, and then ascended upward to higher worlds where he attained many meritorious realms.
