Kapālamocana-tīrtha (Auśanasa) and Balarāma’s Sarasvatī Pilgrimage
ओघवत्यपि राजेन्द्र वसिष्ठेन महात्मना
ohavaty api r1jendra vasihena mah1tman1 | sureuur iti vikhy1t1 prasnut1 ghrag1min2b ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai raja, di sana pun sungai yang mengalir cepat itu termasyhur dengan nama Sureṇu. Ketika Dakṣa Prajāpati, saat melaksanakan yajña di Gaṅgādvāra, mengingat dan memanggil Sarasvatī, ia tampak mengalir di tempat itu dan dikenal sebagai Sureṇu. Demikian pula, resi agung Vasiṣṭha mengundang Sarasvatī yang berarus ilahi di Kurukṣetra; dan di sana ia menjadi terkenal dengan nama Oghavatī.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Sacred realities are remembered and accessed through dharmic ritual and lineage-tradition: the same Sarasvat2b is encountered under different celebrated names in different holy contexts, showing continuity of sanctity across places and times.
Vaibamp1yana explains to the king that Sarasvat2b, when invoked during Daka's sacrifice at Gag1dv1ra, was known there as Sureuu; likewise, when Vasiha invoked her at Kuruketra, she became renowned as Oghavat2b.
