आयुधानामियं चापि वृता त्वत्सम्मते गदा । दुर्योधन बोला--राजन्‌! यदि ऐसी बात है तो इस महासमरमें मेरे साथ लड़नेके लिये आज किसी भी एक शूरवीरको दे दो और तुम्हारी सम्मतिके अनुसार हथियारोंमें मैंने एकमात्र इस गदाका ही वरण किया है

Transliteration

āyudhānām iyaṃ cāpi vṛtā tvat-sammate gadā |

Translation

Duryodhana berkata: “Wahai Raja, jika demikian, tetapkanlah hari ini seorang kesatria untuk bertempur denganku dalam perang besar ini. Dan dengan persetujuanmu, di antara segala senjata, aku memilih gada ini saja sebagai satu-satunya senjataku.”
