न हि संतर्जना तेन श्रुतपूर्वा कथठ्चन । राजभावेन मान्यश्व सर्वलोकस्य सो5भवत्,उसने पहले कभी किसी तरह ऐसी फटकार नहीं सुनी थी; क्योंकि राजा होनेके कारण वह सब लोगोंके सम्मानका पात्र था
na hi santarjanā tena śrutapūrvā kathaṃcana | rājabhāvena mānyaś ca sarvalokasya so 'bhavat ||
Ia belum pernah mendengar teguran setajam itu dalam bentuk apa pun; sebab, karena kedudukannya sebagai raja, ia selama ini dipandang seluruh rakyat sebagai sosok yang patut dihormati.
युधिछिर उवाच
Public honor attached to kingship can insulate a ruler from frank criticism; therefore, when a rebuke is finally spoken, it carries moral force and signals a serious ethical or strategic concern. The verse highlights the responsibility to speak truth firmly when needed, and the humility required to receive it.
Yudhiṣṭhira remarks that the person being discussed had never previously been subjected to such a reprimand, because his royal status made him universally respected. The statement frames the rebuke as exceptional and socially significant.
