Śalya–Yudhiṣṭhira Duel and the Discharge of the Śakti (शल्यवधप्रसङ्गः)
तत्र यन्मानसं महां तत् सर्व निगदामि व: । चक्ररक्षाविमौ वीरौ मम माद्रवतीसुती
tatra yan mānasaṃ mahān tat sarvaṃ nigadāmi vaḥ | cakrarakṣāv imau vīrau mama mādravatīsutī ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Di sana akan kuceritakan kepadamu sepenuhnya tekad agung yang bangkit dalam benak mereka. Kedua pahlawan ini—putra-putra Mādravatī—berdiri sebagai pelindung roda kereta, menjaganya dengan keberanian yang teguh di tengah himpitan pertempuran.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: steadfastly protecting a vital point (the chariot wheel) and fulfilling one’s assigned duty with courage and loyalty, even amid danger.
Sañjaya, narrating the battle events, announces that he will describe the warriors’ significant resolve; he notes that the two sons of Mādrī (Nakula and Sahadeva) are acting as protectors of the chariot wheel, guarding it in the combat situation.
