तस्मिंस्तथा वर्तमाने युद्धे भीरुभयावहे । पूर्वाह्न चापि सम्प्राप्ते भास्करोदयनं प्रति
tasmiṁs tathā vartamāne yuddhe bhīru-bhayāvahe | pūrvāhṇe cāpi samprāpte bhāskarodayanaṁ prati, rājan |
Sañjaya berkata: “Wahai Raja, ketika pertempuran yang menambah gentar para pengecut itu terus berkecamuk, dan ketika waktu forenoon bergerak menuju terbitnya Sang Surya, para kesatria musuh—terlindung dari Mahātmā Arjuna dan mahir menembus sasaran—menghadapi pasukanmu, menetapkan maut sebagai satu-satunya batas untuk berhenti dari perang.”
