Sauptika-parva Adhyāya 13 — Bhīmasena’s Pursuit of Drauṇi and the Release of a Divine Astra
भीमसेनो महाबाहुस्तिष्ठ तिछ्ठेति चाब्रवीत् | कुन्तीकुमार महाबाहु भीमसेन बाणसहित धनुष लिये उसकी ओर दौड़े और बोले --'अरे! खड़ा रह, खड़ा रह'
bhīmaseno mahābāhus tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti cābravīt |
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Bhīmasena yang berlengan perkasa, dengan busur dan anak panah di tangan, menerjang ke arah musuh sambil berseru lantang, “Berhenti! Berhenti!”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ethos of confronting an enemy directly—issuing a clear challenge rather than striking unseen—while also hinting at the moral strain of continued violence in the grim aftermath of war.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Bhīma, described as mighty-armed, rushes forward and shouts “Stand! Stand!”—a battlefield command challenging the opponent to stop and face him.
