Adhyaya 11 — Draupadī’s Grief, Demand for Justice, and Bhīma’s Departure
सा समाश्चासिता तेन भीमसेनेन भामिनी । उसे गिरी हुई देख क्रोधमें भरे हुए सत्यपराक्रमी भीमसेनने उछलकर दोनों बाँहोंसे उसको उठा लिया और उस मानिनी पत्नीको धीरज बँधाया
sā samāśvāsitā tena bhīmasenena bhāminī |
Waiśampāyana berkata: Sang wanita yang anggun itu ditenteramkan oleh Bhīmasena. Melihatnya terjatuh, Bhīmasena—yang keberaniannya teguh dan benar, namun hatinya menyala oleh amarah—segera melompat maju, mengangkatnya dengan kedua lengan, lalu meneguhkan hati istrinya yang mulia dengan kata-kata penghiburan.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in the aftermath of war and rage, dharma includes protecting the vulnerable and restoring courage. Bhīma’s strength is shown not only in battle but in compassionate support—an ethical reminder that power should serve care and responsibility.
The narrator describes Bhīmasena seeing his wife (referred to as bhāminī) fallen in distress. Enraged yet steadfast, he quickly lifts her with both arms and consoles her, helping her regain composure amid the traumatic events of the Sauptika Parva.
