रत्या मत्या च गत्या च ययाहमभिसन्धिता । जीवितप्रियतां महां धिड़मां संक्लेशभागिनीम्
ratyā matyā ca gatyā ca yayāham abhisandhitā | jīvitapriyatāṁ mahāṁ dhiḍḍhāmāṁ saṅkleśabhāginīm ||
Waiśaṃpāyana berkata—oleh kasih sayangnya, ketajaman budinya, dan laku mulianya, ia begitu memengaruhiku hingga aku terpaksa terus hidup, melupakan tekadku sendiri. Celakalah keterikatan besar pada hidup dalam diriku—bagian dari penderitaan—karena itulah aku harus menanggung duka yang begitu berat.
