Sabhā-praveśa, Dāna, and the Courtly Convergence (सभा-प्रवेशः दानं च)
जड्घाबन्धुश्न रैभ्यश्व॒ कोपवेगस्तथा भृगुः । हरिबभ्ुश्न कौण्डिन्यो बश्रुमाली सनातन:
jaḍghābandhuś ca raibhyāśvaḥ kopavegas tathā bhṛguḥ | haribabhruś ca kauṇḍinyo baśrumālī sanātanaḥ ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: “Di sana ada pula Jaḍghābandhu, Raibhyāśva, Kopavega, dan Bhṛgu; demikian juga Haribabhru, Kauṇḍinya, Baśrumālī, serta resi purba Sanātana.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse reinforces the Mahābhārata’s ethic of grounding dharma in remembered tradition: naming venerable sages and lineages signals that moral and social order is supported by authoritative exemplars and inherited wisdom.
Vaiśampāyana continues an enumeration of notable figures—primarily sages or revered persons—present or relevant in the context, using a catalog-style listing to situate the episode within a wider sacred and historical network.
