Śrī Kṛṣṇa berkata: “Wahai Raja, setelah beberapa waktu berlalu, sang mahātapā, Bhagavān Chaṇḍakauśika, datang kembali, berkelana di negeri Magadha.”
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
The verse foregrounds the moral authority of tapas (austerity) and the role of revered sages in guiding political life: a king’s story is framed through the arrival of a holy ascetic whose movements and words can shape royal decisions and future events.
Kṛṣṇa begins recounting a past episode: after some time, the sage Chaṇḍakauśika returns to the region of Magadha, setting the stage for subsequent narration connected with Magadha’s ruler(s) and future developments.
