विना हंसेन लोके5स्मिन्‌ नाहं जीवितुमुत्सहे । इत्येतां मतिमास्थाय डिम्भको निधनं गत:,“मैं हंसके बिना इस संसारमें जीवित नहीं रह सकता।” ऐसा निश्चय करके डिम्भकने अपनी जान दे दी

vinā haṃsena loke 'smin nāhaṃ jīvitum utsahe | ity etāṃ matim āsthāya ḍimbhako nidhanaṃ gataḥ ||

“Tanpa Haṃsa, di dunia ini aku tak sanggup hidup.” Dengan tekad demikian, Ḍimbhaka pun menuju kematian.
