गमनाय मतिं चक्रे भ्रातरश्षास्य ते तदा | उन धर्मात्मा नरेशने नगर और जनपदके लोगोंको समझा-बुझाकर उनकी अनुमति प्राप्त कर ली। फिर उन्होंने और उनके भाइयोंने सब कुछ त्यागकर महा-प्रस्थान करनेका ही निश्चय किया

Transliteration

gamanāya matiṁ cakre bhrātaraś cāsya te tadā |

Translation

Saat itu para saudara itu menetapkan tekad untuk berangkat. Sang raja yang berhati dharma menasihati warga kota dan rakyat negeri hingga memperoleh persetujuan mereka; lalu ia dan saudara-saudaranya menanggalkan segalanya dan dengan teguh memilih jalan Mahāprasthāna.
