न त्वेव भीता: पंचाला: कथंचित् स्यु: पराड्मुखा: । न हि मृत्युं महेष्वासा गणयन्ति महारणे
na tveva bhītāḥ pañcālāḥ kathaṃcit syuḥ parāṅmukhāḥ | na hi mṛtyuṃ maheṣvāsā gaṇayanti mahāraṇe ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Namun para Pañcāla tidak gentar; sama sekali mereka tidak akan berpaling dari pertempuran. Para pemanah agung itu, dalam perang besar, tidak menganggap maut sebagai apa pun.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of steadfastness in battle: true warriors do not yield to fear or retreat, and they treat even death as insignificant when duty and honor in combat are at stake.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pañcāla fighters remain unshaken on the battlefield; they do not turn back, because as renowned archers they disregard the prospect of death amid the great war.
