अध्याय ६० — कर्णस्य पाञ्चाल-सोमक-निग्रहः

Karna’s Suppression of the Panchala–Somaka Forces

जिघांसन्तो नरव्याप्रा: समन्‍्तात्‌ तव वाहिनीम्‌ | अभ्यद्रवन्त संक्रुद्धा:समरे जितकाशिन:,भीमसेन, सात्यकि, शिखण्डी, जनमेजय, बलवान धृष्टद्युम्म और समस्त प्रभद्रकगण-- ये सभी पुरुषसिंह वीर समरांगणमें विजयसे उल्लसित होते हुए क्रोधमें भरकर आपकी सेनाको मार डालनेकी इच्छासे चारों ओरसे उसके ऊपर टूट पड़े

jighāṃsanto naravyāprāḥ samantāt tava vāhinīm | abhyadravanta saṃkruddhāḥ samare jitakāśinaḥ || bhīmasenaḥ sātyakiḥ śikhaṇḍī janamejayaḥ balavān dhṛṣṭadyumnaś ca sarve prabhadrakagaṇāś ca—ete sarve puruṣasiṃhā vīrāḥ samarāṅgaṇe vijayenollasitāḥ krodhabharitāḥ tava senāṃ jighāṃsayantaḥ samantāt tām abhyapatanta ||

Para kesatria laksana harimau itu, bernafsu membunuh, menyala oleh amarah dan bersorak dalam harapan kemenangan, menyerbu pasukanmu dari segala penjuru.
