एते भारत मातड्ा: कर्णेनाभिहता: शरै: | आर्तनादान् विकुर्वाणा विद्रवन्ति दिशो दश,“भारत! कर्णके बाणोंसे मारे गये ये मतवाले हाथी आर्तनाद करते हुए दसों दिशाओंमें भाग रहे हैं
ete bhārata mātaṅgāḥ karṇenābhihatāḥ śaraiḥ | ārtanādān vikurvāṇā vidravanti diśo daśa ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Wahai Bhārata, gajah-gajah yang mabuk musth ini, tertembus panah Karṇa, meraung kesakitan dan lari panik ke segala sepuluh penjuru.”
