Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces
युधिष्ठिरं पाण्डवेयं हतेति भरतर्षभ । संचोदयत्यसौ कर्णों धार्तराष्ट्रानू महाबलान्,“भरतश्रेष्ठ) वह कर्ण महाबली धृतराष्ट्रपुत्रोंको यह प्रेरणा दे रहा है कि तुम सब लोग मिलकर पाए्डुपुत्र युधिष्ठिरको मार डालो
sañjaya uvāca | yudhiṣṭhiraṃ pāṇḍaveyaṃ hateti bharatarṣabha | saṃcodayaty asau karṇo dhārtarāṣṭrān mahābalān ||
Sanjaya berkata: “Wahai yang termulia di antara bangsa Bharata, Karna yang perkasa sedang menghasut putra-putra Dhritarashtra yang kuat, ‘Bunuh Yudhisthira, sang Pandawa!’”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how, in war, persuasive speech can become moral pressure toward lethal ends. It invites reflection on dharma: victory-driven counsel may conflict with ethical restraint, especially when the target is a king associated with righteousness.
Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that Karna is actively exhorting the powerful Kaurava warriors to unite and kill Yudhishthira, framing Yudhishthira’s death as a decisive objective in the battle.
