युधिष्ठिरोडपि संग्रामे प्रहारैगाढ्वेदन: । क्रोशमात्रमपक्रम्य तस्थौ भरतसत्तम,भरतश्रेष्ठ! संग्राममें युधिष्ठिरपर बहुत अधिक प्रहार किये गये थे, जिससे उन्हें गहरी वेदना हो रही थी। वे रणभूमिसे एक कोस दूर हटकर खड़े थे
yudhiṣṭhiro 'pi saṅgrāme prahārair gāḍha-vedanaḥ | krośa-mātram apakramya tasthau bharata-sattama ||
Sañjaya berkata—wahai yang terbaik di antara keturunan Bharata, bahkan Yudhiṣṭhira di tengah pertempuran terkena banyak hantaman dan diliputi nyeri yang dalam; ia mundur kira-kira sejauh satu krośa lalu berdiri terpisah.
संजय उवाच
